R+F- 6 month results

R+FRemember those skin care products I was using and blogging about several months ago?  It was the Rodan and Fields- Unblemish regimen.  Well, I know it’s been a while since I last posted about them, but I have continued using them and I can happily say the results haven’t faded 🙂  I have been acne-free for almost 6 months now!!!  And that’s even with all the crazy pregnancy hormones 😉 I haven’t been able to say that since…well, ever since I started getting acne almost 15 years ago!  I have total confidence in the R+F system, and there’s so many more products I haven’t even tried yet.

If you want to read more about my progress so far with the Unblemish regimen, you can check out these posts (an intro to R+F2-week progress, 6-week progress).  But just for a quick recap, here’s some pictures to show you how it has worked for me…

And here I am 6 months later 🙂  (if you are viewing this on an a phone/tablet, some pics may be sideways. So sorry! I have tried several things to fix it and cannot figure out why they are sideways.)

Jan21-RF6months (21)Jan21-RF6months (22)  Jan21-RF6months (11) Jan21-RF6months (6) Jan21-RF6months (37)You’ll see that even those pesky red spots that I had lingering at 6 weeks (which I thought was scarring that wouldn’t go away) are now totally gone!  Now with my clear skin, I hardly ever use foundation/concealer.  If I do, it’s usually just under my eyes for those late night/early morning routines I have (thank you nursing clinicals).  So with a little eye shadow (sometimes not even that), mascara, and some powder and blush, I’m done with my makeup routine in about 5-10 mins.  Simplicity people!  And in a few months when baby Henry gets here, and I’ll probably be lucky to even get a shower every day, I will be grateful for clear skin and the ability to not wear makeup and still feel beautiful 🙂

For the most part, I still use all 4 products every day.  Sometimes at night I use a generic over the counter face-wash just to stretch the use of my R+F face-wash out a little longer since it seems to be the product I run out of first.  That allows me to continue getting 2 months’ use out of each regimen pack I order.  One thing I’ve noticed too, is not only is my acne under control, but my skin hasn’t gotten as dry during these cold winter months like it normally does.  In the past, my face would get very dry during the winter, especially around my lips and nose.  I would try just using a light-weight moisturizer but that sometimes wasn’t enough.  And the heavier moisturizers would always trigger my break-outs.  So it was a battle during the winter between dry skin and breakouts.  Not anymore!  The Unblemish moisturizer is light enough that my skin doesn’t feel oily, but rich enough to battle the bitter cold air.

So that’s my progress!!  If you are interested in trying these products, let me know!  The exciting news is, I am now finally a consultant for Rodan and Fields, so I can sell the products.  And there’s so much more than just the Unblemish regimen!  If you want more info, check out my business site (www.amyboggs.myrandf.com).  You can read more about all the products, look at prices, and see others’ before and after results.  And if you sign up as a preferred customer (you can read about it under the PC Perks link), you’ll get some discounts and free shipping!  Just ask me all about it 🙂

R+F- 6 weeks

Ok, so I got a little behind on my Rodan and Fields updates, but I’m back with more progress!  So far, I’ve been using the Unblemish products for about 6 weeks now, and while I did get a little flare-up when hormones kicked in for a visit, I’m still happy with the ways things are going.  And as I’m nearing the end of my supply, I think I can safely say that the package will last me just over 2 months.  And by signing up as a Preferred Customer, my monthly costs are roughly $85/month for you budget conscious people.  But I’m really excited because I’ve made the decision to become a consultant (it’s still in the works, so I don’t have a business site yet)!  Not only does that mean I can start selling the products, but I’ll get an additional discount as a consultant.  So if you like my results and want to try them for yourself, check back for more details!  Once I get my consultant status up and running, I’d love to help you out!  🙂

Ok, so on to the fun part.  My 6 week results.  Again, I took these pictures right after my shower and after applying the Unblemish products for the day.  And of course, no makeup!  Oh, but for a real before and after comparison…the first 2 pictures are from 6 weeks ago before I ever started using the products.  Then the photos that follow are my current results.  You can really see the difference!

So at this point, I think the remaining red spots you see on my cheeks are actually some scarring from years of dealing with acne.  My skin is smooth, so they are not really “blemishes.”  And luckily, Rodan and Fields also has a product to help with that!  So when I become a consultant, I think I’m going to start trying the Redefine regimen and see if I can take care of those last little red spots.  And of course, I’ll keep you updated on that 😉

R+F – Week 1 & 2

R&FThe other day I wrote about my struggles with acne (which you can read about here: R+F). After talking with a co-worker, I bit the bullet and bought the Unblemish package from Rodan and Fields, and I started using it about 2 weeks ago. Now, I am a huge skeptic. I have bought things before based on good reviews and been disappointed in results. I’ve tried nearly everything on the market for skin care and still struggled with blemishes.  But I can honestly say I am loving these products!  My skin is far less oily by the end of the day, my blemishes are clearing up, and my skin just feels smoother!

So here’s what you get in the package:

R+FIt comes with a face wash, toner, acne treatment cream, and oil-controlling lotion with SPF.  I was honestly hesitant about using the step 4 lotion because I hate the feeling of heavy lotions on my face.  Like, it really makes me cringe.  But this one is light-weight and it works wonders for controlling oil.  On days that I work (12-hr nursing shifts), my face would feel so oily by the end of the day.  But this little gem has my face feeling soft and smooth all day long!

So here’s my progress so far, post shower, with NO MAKE-UP! 🙂

My skin is smooth, what little blemishes I still have are tiny compared to what I usually get, and they continue to clear up a little more each day.  I’m excited to see what another 2 weeks will do!

Everyone has insecurities about themselves.  They can be emotional, spiritual, physical…each one is unique to each individual.  Some people hide their insecurities from the world.  It helps them cope.  But it doesn’t mean they go away.

For me, one of my biggest insecurities in life has been my struggle with acne.  I have dealt with acne ever since my middle school years.  My dad grew up with bad acne, and lucky me…I got those genes.  During middle school and high school, I saw several dermatologists who prescribed various creams and face washes- benzoyl peroxide, clindamycin, sodium sulfacetamide, etc.  When I was old enough to start seeing a gynecologist, I was started on oral contraceptives that also aided in acne treatment.  And for a while I thought that was the trick.  I was out of my teenage years, my skin was getting better and I thought, “finally, I’ve grown out of this!”  But even that failed with time.  Now I’m in my upper 20s, and I’ve just about worked my way through every product available in the drug store skin care aisle…  (this is just what I currently have, not everything I’ve tried).R&F-before (50)

I wash my face twice a day, never sleep with make-up on, use over-the-counter blemish creams at night, and even with all that I still have ance.  It flares up and has periods of “not-so-bad” to “holy-crap-am-I-13-again?!”  I have pretty much settled on the fact that this is just how it’s gonna be, and I just have to get used to it.  Granted I’ve learned to cover it up fairly well with make-up, but I never feel comfortable without make-up outside the walls of my home.  And who wants to wear make-up every day? To the pool?  The gym?  On vacation?  Ugh, not this girl.  Then I got talking to a co-worker at lunch one day and she was telling me about the products she uses and that they have been the “only thing that has worked for her.”  And she’s done Accutane in the past.  So I figured it was certainly worth a shot!  While I haven’t tried Proactive or Accutane, those options are out for me.  Accutane has such terrible side effects, and Proactive just seems like such a gimmick (but that’s just personal opinion).

The products I’m talking about are Rodan and Fields.  The company has been around for years now, but I’m just now starting to see other people I know use the products.  Maybe it’s just finally gaining popularity, or maybe our age of social media is just putting it out there more, I don’t know.  But I’m jumping on the band wagon and trying it out!  And I’m going to share my progress with you!  I want to post some before and after shots so you can see how they work on an actual person you know.  (I hate reading reviews and shocking results from people I don’t know.  I’m super skeptical.)  And before you freak out about the price (because yes, that almost turned me off from trying it), I’ve been told the package will last you 2-3 months once you get your acne under control.  So while $175 (about every 2 months) might seem CRAZY, I was easily spending around $60/month on various products (face wash, creams, make-up concealers, primers, etc) that didn’t even work!  So a little extra cash for something that actually might work is totally worth it to me.  And as I go through this process I’ll report back on how far these products actually stretch 😉

So, while part of me can’t believe I’m actually showing you these pictures (talk about facing your insecurities!), the other part of me is excited to share my progress!  These are some pictures I took about 2 weeks ago before I started the products.  This is me fresh out of the shower.  All I did was wash my face with the Neutrogena face wash I’ve been using lately.  This is pre-makeup (just some mascara I dabbed on before realizing I wanted to take some pics!)

R&F-before (9) R&F-before (11) R&F-before (2) R&F-before (12)

And really, as far as my make-up routine goes, these are my everyday basics.  I have more than this (various shades of eye shadow and foundations, etc).  But as far as what I do every day, this pretty much covers it.

R&F-before (15)

I’m pretty simplistic when it comes to make-up.  And while this usually covers most of the blemishes I have, it doesn’t work 100% of the time.  These next photos are after I’ve done my make-up routine for the day.  You can still see a blemish or two.

R&F-before (24) R&F-before (25) R&F-before (34)So I’m really excited to try these new products!  (and hint hint: I actually already started, and I’m loving them so far!!)  Check back to see my progress 🙂
